No. 5 Raiders Defeat No. 9 Clarkson in Top-10 Matchup

Larose Scores First Goal of the Season as Osborne Posts Season-High 34 Saves

HAMILTON – The No. 5 Colgate women's hockey program picked up its fifth top-10 win of the season against No. 9 Clarkson University as the Raiders defeated the Golden Knights 4-1. First-year Kayle Osborne had a season-high 34 saves and four different Raiders scored a goal in the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Raiders got on the board first as sophomore Danielle Serdachny passed a deflected shot to sophomore Kaitlyn O'Donohoe who scored at the 3:08 mark of the first period.

With the score 1-0 early in the game, Colgate continued to get great shots throughout the period, but the Raiders did not score again until 4:13 remained in the period as sophomore Darcie Lappan extended the Raiders' lead to 2-0 as she snuck a deflected shot into the top of the net.

Colgate continued the momentum in the second period by scoring two power play goals in the first seven minutes.  After the Golden Knights were called for tripping just 3:39 into the period, senior Coralie Larose scored her first goal of the season on the power play to make the score 3-0.

The Raiders then took advantage of a Clarkson crosschecking penalty as junior Noemi Neubauerova scored her sixth goal of the season to give the Raiders the 4-0 lead. At the end of the second period, Colgate steadily led Clarkson 23-17 in shots.

The third period was dominated by Clarkson as the Golden Knights outshot the Raiders 18-3. However, Osborne held the Golden Knights to only one power play tally to keep Colgate ahead. Clarkson finished the contest outshooting the Raiders 35-26 but were unable to close the gap as the Raiders ran ahead to a 4-1 victory.
