HAMILTON - It's the home stretch at Class of 1965 Arena. The playoff race is winding down and points seem to count just a bit more. Sitting at seventh in the ECAC standings, Colgate is looking to finish with four points and avoid visiting a top seed next weekend. In her penultimate home contest, Liz Auby stood tall between the pipes as the Raiders took an early lead and never looked back.
It was a night of milestones for the maroon and white. Danielle Serdachny tied the program record for assists and points by a freshman. In her 35 games, Serdachny has tallied 22 assists and 32 points.
Liz Auby picked up her fifth shutout of the senior campaign to tie the Colgate record for shutouts in a single season. Julia Vandyk, Ashlynne Rando and Kimberly Sass are now joined by the Stoughton, Wis. product at the top of the list.
Sporting a near perfect record when scoring first, fast starts are key for the Raiders. Kaitlyn O'Donohoe gave Greg Fargo's group exactly what it was looking for. After a series of rebounds, the freshman hammered it home for her fifth of the season. Assists were credited to Danielle Serdachny and Sammy Smigliani, helping both freshmen gain ground on rookie records.
Not much was asked of the lone senior in the first period, but Auby stopped all four shots directed at her to keep the Dutchwomen off the board.
There was no scoreboard watching tonight. Colgate was dialed in as the women expanded the lead in the second period thanks to Delani MacKay.
More than doubling Union's shot total, the Raiders went into the second intermission looking to finish off the dominant win. The floodgates would open in the final 20 minutes.
The first of five goals in the period and the second from the set of twins, Eleri MacKay gave Colgate a 3-0 advantage on a power play chance in the opening seconds. Kaitlyn O'Donohoe followed it up with her second goal of the night just minutes later.
Serdachny continued the scoring barrage with her 10th of the season before Delani MacKay found the back of the net once again to create a 6-0 advantage.

Coralie Larose provided an exclamation point in the final six minutes of the contest.
