Raiders Surge Past Cornell, 73-57

Four in Double-Figures, Led by Rayman’s 16

ITHACA, N.Y.Balanced scoring and a strong second half propelled Colgate to a 73-57 victory over Cornell here Sunday afternoon.

Will Rayman scored 16 points to lead four Raiders in double-figures. Jordan Burns and Dana Batt scored 14 apiece, while Malcom Regisford added 12.

Rapolas Ivanauskas just missed his third straight double-double, finishing with nine points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

Cornell entered the game 2-0 for the first time in nine years and broke in front early. The Big Red led 5-1 and 10-3 before the Raiders reeled off 10 straight points for a 13-10 advantage on Ivanauskas' 3-pointer with 12:18 showing.

That was part of an 18-2 Colgate run that put the Raiders in front 21-12 on Burns' 3-pointer at the 8:49 mark. Colgate held on for a 31-28 halftime lead.

But Colgate for the second game in a row played its best after intermission.

After Cornell grabbed a 35-34 advantage on Josh Warren's jumper with 16:48 left, Colgate scored six straight to take the lead for keeps.
