ST. CLOUD, Minn. – Nationally ranked No. 7/7 Colgate women's ice hockey freshman goaltender
Liz Auby (Stoughton, Wisconsin) recorded 30 saves in her first career shutout Saturday evening as the Raiders skated to a 0-0 tie with the St. Cloud State Huskies at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
Following the scoreless overtime period, the Raiders won a shootout with the Huskies, 2-1, followed WCHA rules.
Shelby Perry (Elginburg, Ontario) went five-hole on St. Cloud State netminder Janine Alder to score the shootout-winning goal.
Colgate's scoreless tie is its first since Nov. 6, 2015 at Quinnipiac and just the fourth in program history.
Auby was remarkable from start to finish for the Raiders, making 10 saves in each of the first two periods. One of Auby's most remarkable saves came in the second period when the Huskies found an open skater wide open on the back door but Auby managed to slide from post to post and track the puck down to make the save.
The Raiders had plenty of great scoring chances of their own throughout regulation and overtime as they pepped Alder with 40 shots, including 38 through the first 60 minutes.
Breanne Wilson-Bennett (Markham, Ontario) and
Shae Labbe (Calgary, Alberta) tied for the game-high with six shots on goal apiece. Wilson-Bennett scored first in the shootout period before Julia Tylke answered her with a shootout goal of her own.

Head Coach Greg Fargo
"Liz was great today, I was really happy for her…Something happens sometimes when you come into the second half of the year as a freshman, she seemed to have more confidence in her game since the first day she stepped foot on campus.
"I think it showed tonight, she was there for every stop and didn't allow many second chances. I'm really happy for her to get that first shutout under her belt."
