HAMDEN, Conn. – Colgate men's ice hockey freshman goaltender
Colton Point (North Bay, Ontario) set a career-high with 45 saves Friday night as the shorthanded Raiders fell to the nationally ranked No. 15/15 Quinnipiac Bobcats, 4-1, at High Point Solutions Arena.
Point's 45-save effort was his second career 40-save game after recording 41 against the UConn Huskies in his first career start on Oct. 14. He was peppered with shots all night long, recording 16 saves in the first, 15 in the second and a career-high 18 saves in the third period
Raiders' goaltenders now have four 40-plus save performances this season, with Point's 45 saves second only to
Charlie Finn's (North Vancouver, British Columbia) 47 saves against Princeton.

Quinnipiac was ahead 3-0 over Colgate before
Jared Cockrell (Byfield, Massachusetts) tallied his fourth goal of the season to cut the lead to 3-1.
John Snodgrass (Eagan, Minnesota) passed the puck up to
Brett Corkey (Calgary, Alberta) at the point where he shifted the puck across to Cockrell on the right wing. Cockrell played it back to Corkey in the high slot before trading spots and Cockrell drilled the puck through a perfect screen by
Mike Panowyk (Whitby, Ontario) in front of Quinnipiac netminder Andrew Shortridge for the power-play goal.
Just 35 seconds after Cockrell's goal, the Bobcats scored the final goal of the game to take a 4-1 lead.
Point kept the Raiders in the game throughout the third period with his stellar 18-save performance but Colgate couldn't tack on another goal.
