Colgate Honors Six Senior Student-Athletes

Raiders Fall 5-0 to No. 4-Ranked Team in Nation Harvard

HAMILTON – Six special Colgate women's ice hockey student-athletes played in their final game in Starr Rink on Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders saw Susan Allen , Taylor Craig , Miriam Drubel , Katie Case , Melissa Kueber and Brittney Brooks lace up their skates to play in front on their home crowd one last time.

Unfortunately the Raiders dropped a 5-0 decision to their nationally ranked foe Harvard but not without some solid chances.

Case and Cat Quirion led the team with four shots each, while Megan Sullivan recorded three shots of her own.

Colgate had a power play chance in each of the three periods but were unable to slide one past the Crimson netminders Emerance Maschmeyer and Molly Tissenbaum.

Allen and Brooks split time in net for the Raiders posting 15 and 16 saves, respectively.

Colgate is back in action Feb. 20-21 to close out its season at Union and Rensselaer. The Raiders face the Dutchwomen on Friday at 7 p.m. before meeting up with the Engineers on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Straight From The Source
Head coach Greg Fargo (on his overall thoughts from his team's performance despite the outcome): "They didn't quit. That was one of the things we talked about after getting off to a tough start against a very good team in Harvard. We talked about that desire to just keep going. What we saw as the game progressed was that we got better and better. But in the end it just wasn't enough."

"Early on in the game we let a couple details slip and you can't do that against a good team like this because they are going to make you pay. Certainly there was a lot to be learned from today's game but we finished strong, played a good third period and we'll try and build off that moving forward."
