Drubel, Haus Lead Raiders at Dartmouth

Colgate Defeated the Big Green, 2-0, for Third Conference Victory of Year

HANOVER, N.H. – Senior Miriam Drubel and sophomore Kayla Haus tallied goals on Saturday afternoon to help Colgate shut out host Dartmouth, 2-0.

The Raiders scored early in both the second and third period, while holding strong defensively for their third shutout of the season.

Drubel notched the eventual game-winner five minutes and 47 seconds into the middle frame after Taylor Craig and Lauren Wildfang teamed up to find her in front of the net. Haus then added an insurance marker just 44 seconds into the third period, which ultimately secured Colgate the win.

Junior netminder Ashlynne Rando posted 27 stops in her fifth victory of the year.

The Big Green slightly outshot the Raiders 27-21, with both teams going 0-for-4 on the power play.

Colgate returns home to the comfy confines of Starr Rink when it hosts Rensselaer and Union for two more ECAC Hockey games. The Raiders welcome the Engineers on Friday before their contest with the Dutchwomen on Saturday. Both games are set for a 3 p.m. puck drop.

Straight From The Source
Head coach Greg Fargo (on his thoughts from his team's victory and overall thoughts from the weekend): "It feels good to be walking away with two points tonight after a really strong weekend overall for our team. We played strong all weekend other than few shifts in the second period against Harvard. I liked our work ethic in both games though."

"Today was a gritty contest. Both teams played a physical game but our special teams and goaltending were just a little better in the end. It was a back-and-forth game where nothing came easy. When you stick to it, good things happen."

"The first goal was a great response from some missed opportunities we had. And the (Kayla) Haus goal was huge, as it was a great play that started from (Breanne) Wilson-Bennett. It gave us a little bit of breathing room early in the third period. We were then able to just settle in the rest of the way."
