Craig Tallies Second Straight Goal

Raiders Fall to Yale 5-1 but Senior Earns Second Goal in As Many Contests

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Senior Taylor Craig recorded her fifth overall and second straight goal of the season on Saturday afternoon.

The Raiders ultimately dropped the contest to host Yale,  5-1.

Colgate jumped out to the 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the contest when Craig found the back of the net. Rookie Megan Sullivan found Craig in the slot, where the Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, native fired a shot through traffic and past Yale's Jaimie Leonoff for the go-ahead marker.

The Bulldogs tied it with a little less than three minutes to play in the opening period to send the teams into the first intermission knotted at 1-1.

Despite some solid chances for the Raiders during the middle period, two unanswered goals eventually sealed the victory for Yale.

The Bulldogs added two more goals in the final period and the deficit proved to be too much for Colgate as they dropped the contest.

Ashlynne Rando compiled 29 total saves, including back-to-back 12 stop periods in the first and second.

Colgate is back on the road next weekend when it heads to Harvard and Dartmouth for two more ECAC Hockey games.

Straight From The Source
Head coach Greg Fargo (on his overall thoughts from the game): "I give Yale a lot of credit for the game they played tonight. They were in our face every time we touched the puck. We knew tonight would be a quicker pace but we didn't deliver on our end. Yale was very determined and we were reacting."

"We did some good things at times but we weren't able to string enough simple and smart plays together, which is key to our success."

"We've got to have a short memory after this one. We played so well Friday, had great process for the entire game and we need to get back to playing that way quickly as next weekend is another important league play weekend."
