POTSDAM, N.Y. – Senior
Taylor Craig tallied her third goal of the season but it wasn't enough to spark a victory against Colgate's nationally ranked opponent, Clarkson.
The Golden Knights, who went into the week ranked No. 6 in the nation, earned a 5-1 win over the Raiders on Saturday afternoon.
Craig's goal snapped the Raiders scoreless streak, which spanned a little more than 250 minutes of action. Prior to that, Colgate had only gone scoreless once following a loss to Yale earlier in the year.
The Raiders found themselves 2-0 down after the opening two periods before seeing their conference opponent tally a third goal three minutes into the final frame.
Craig gave Colgate some life a little more than three minutes later but two more goals from Clarkson ultimately ended any Raider attempts at a comeback.
Colgate now has a break until they travel to Vermont on Jan. 2-3 for a two-game set with the Catamounts to open up the new year.
