Quotable
Colgate Head Coach Don Vaughan

(On team's performance in the first period)
"It was a great start tonight. It was exactly what we wanted to do, especially on the road on banner night with a ton of energy in the building. It went pretty quiet pretty quickly. I thought we had great possession time in the offensive zone and great energy, which allowed us to roll our lines and when you're on the road, getting a good start is really important and we clearly did that tonight. I was really proud of our guys."

(On second period)
"We knew they were going to come at us. They're a very good hockey team and they're at home and they've got a great coach. We took a couple of penalties which gave them some momentum. The opening shift of the second period we got back on our heels and that set the tone. Charlie (Finn) came up big when we needed him to. I always tell him you don't have to make all the saves, just make the right ones and he clearly made the right saves and he clearly made the right saves in the second period to keep it a one-goal contest."

(On team's performance on the penalty kill)
"We made some minor adjustments after the first power play. We got caught up in one in the third, but aside from that, we did what we wanted to do. We got the shots coming to Charlie from the outside instead of down the middle. We did a really good job of packing it in around the net and not giving up second and third chance chances."

Colgate sophomore goaltender Charlie Finn

(On team's performance)
"I thought the whole team really played well. Our first period was exactly how we want to play and how we can play. As the game wore on they got their legs under them and we knew that there would be a little bit of push back.  But all in all, it was a very sturdy and strong performance by the boys."

(On team's effort on the penalty kill)
"I thought we started reading their plays a little bit better after that first goal. We were also a little more patient and not over-committing to the points or down low. They love to pass the puck around behind the net and I thought we did a phenomenal job getting in lanes, blocking shots and getting the puck out of the zone when we had the opportunity to."

Colgate Freshman forward Evan Peterson
(On making his Colgate debut)
"It was really exciting. Glad I was able to get the nerves out early. The team came out flying and we started the way we wanted to and struck to our system. Going into the first intermission with a 2-0 lead was really good."

(On scoring his first collegiate goal)
"It was a good play by (Andrew) Black up by the point to keep it in and cycle it down low to (Daniel) Gentzler, who threw it out front and I was able to pop it home. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time and I was happy I was able to finish off the play."
