Box Score
HANOVER, N.H. – The Colgate women's hockey team saw rookie Kayla Haus net her first marker of the season but couldn't hold on as Dartmouth grabbed a 2-1 victory on Friday night.

Colgate (3-10-0, 1-6-0 ECAC) received its lone goal from Haus thanks to a great pass from senior captain Megan Wickens, who was awarded the assist on the play. Junior Brittney Brooks notched another start in net recording 24 saves.

Dartmouth (2-6-0, 2-5-0 ECAC) registered two goals in the victory after Catherine Berghuis and Lindsey Allen tallied markers. Lindsay Holdcraft earned the win posting 23 saves in the contest.

Before the Raiders could settle into their rhythm, the Big Green scored the game's first goal 1:17 into the opening period. The play started following a faceoff. Berghuis collected the puck and shot into the top corner of the net just past Brooks' shoulder, lifting Dartmouth to the 1-0 advantage.

The Raiders were on the attack, however, when they had back-to-back power plays after a hooking and checking penalty. Despite good shots from Stephanie Giannopoulos and Jocelyn Simpson, Colgate was unable to find the back of the net.

Almost as quickly as the Big Green scored in the first period, the Raiders tallied the equalizer 2:47 into the middle frame. Wickens found Haus to knot the score at 1-all.

After the Big Green killed off a Colgate power play, they found themselves on a 3-on-1 opportunity. Brooks came up huge for Colgate when she stopped consecutive shots from Ali Winkel.

A few minutes later Brooks kept the score tied by making three stellar saves. Katy Ratty found an opening and tried her luck on net but Brooks was there to push the puck away. Kennedy Ottenbreit followed that up with a chance of her own but again Brooks was there to make the save. Brook posted another stop a few minutes later on Devon Moir, keeping the game squared at 1-1.

In the closing minutes of the second period, Colgate rattled off three good looks on net. Miriam Drubel, Rachel Walsh, and Taylor Volpe all recorded shots but couldn't get one past Dartmouth's netminder.

Midway through the final frame, Dartmouth recorded the go-ahead goal and eventual game-winner when Allen slid one past Brooks.

Colgate tried to find the equalizer again and even with the Raiders pulling the goalie in the finale minutes the Big Green's defense held strong not conceding the tying goal.

Both teams went scoreless on the power play with the Raiders going 0-for-7 and the Big Green 0-for-5. Dartmouth held the slight edge on shots 26-24.

Colgate is back on the ice Saturday when it travels to #6 Harvard to face off with the Crimson at 4 p.m.
