The Bears came off to an aggressive start, creating a series of opportunities and forcing Colgate (6-12-2, 3-5-1 ECAC) to play some defense early. The Raiders found their momentum quickly, firing one shot after another and eventually finding success at the 17:51 mark during a power play. Phillips connected with Kirwan and senior

The tables turned in the second frame, with the Bears producing numerous scoring opportunities as it outshot Colgate 12-5. Their persistence was soon rewarded at the 8:49 mark when they too found a power-play goal from Alena Polenska, to even the score at 1-1. With a newfound scoring momentum, Brown found a second goal with under a minute left in the period, courtesy of Erica Farrer, to give the Bears the 2-1 advantage.
Feeling the pressure of the one-goal deficit going into the final 20 minutes of play, Colgate began to play with more intensity, mirroring the offensive rhythm they had created in the first period. Like before, the Raiders' efforts paid off, finding an equalizer just four minutes into play to put the score at 2-2. Phillips was able to put the puck into Brown's net with the help of Kirwan once again to score her second power-play goal of the night. Both teams continued to battle it out on the ice, and despite a few last minute nail-biting attempts, the Raiders could not find a third goal, resulting in their fifth overtime game of the season.
Both teams came out strong in overtime, both hungry for a league win. However, as the period came to a close, neither team could find the net, resulting in Colgate's second and the Bears' third tie of the season.
The Raiders finished 2-of-4 on the power play, while holding Brown to just one goal in four opportunities. Junior
Kimberly Sass had 18 saves for the Raiders while Brown's Katie Jamieson had 29.
