Cornell's aggressive play soon paid off, scoring two quick goals both in the sixth minute, the first of which was off a power play, to put the score at 2-0. The Raiders continued to search for a goal as they attempted to create some momentum in their offense. The second frame started off more even than the first, with both teams creating scoring opportunities in front of their opponent's net. However, as the period progressed, the Raiders soon found themselves playing defense once again and at the 10:28 mark, Cornell found a third power-play goal to improve its lead to 5-0. With just five minutes left to play, both teams proved to still be hungry for goal. The Big Red struck first with a goal at the 16:37 mark, and then, with just 1:34 left on the clock, Colgate finally found its first goal courtesy of Phillips but it was too late, ending the game with a 6-1 loss. Senior
Jessi Waters and freshman
Shannon Doyle were credited with the assists.
