Colgate (2-2-0) saw McPherson score both goals in the first period with one coming on a power play to help the Raiders to a 3-0 lead after the first 20 minutes. McPherson also added an assist on a power play goal from sophomore
Robbie Bourdon (Montreal, Que.). Sophomore
Billy Rivellini (Great Falls, Va.) netted his first collegiate goal late in the third, while junior

Sacred Heart (0-4-1) got a great effort from its goaltender in Steven Lagatto as he made 50 saves, including 19 alone in the first period.
McPherson got the Raiders on the board first with a power play goal with 3:34 remaining in the period. Sophomore
Jeremy Price (Milton, Ont.) and Bourdon collected the assists and for Price it was the first of two on the day. The Raiders kept the pressure on and less than two minutes later Firman increased the lead to 2-0 with the assists going to junior
Matt Firman (Fayetteville, N.Y.) and senior
Austin Mayer (Providence, R.I.).
Sacred Heart couldn't get to the locker room fast enough because McPherson added his second of the period with 37 seconds remaining on the clock. He once again hooked up with Bourdon to earn a 3-0 lead at the end of the first.
After a scoreless second period, Bourdon completed the three-point night with his second goal of the season on the power play coming with 3:58 left in the game. McPherson also chipped in with the assist for his third point, while Price added his second assist. Rivellini closed out the game with the first goal of his career at the 1:36 mark.
Colgate outshot the Pioneers by a 55-21 margin and went 2-for-8 on the power play. The Raiders did a great job staying out the penalty box with just one penalty all night.
Colgate will be back in action next weekend as the Raiders open conference play at Clarkson on Friday night, followed by St. Lawrence on Saturday with both starting with a 7 p.m. faceoff.
