SCOUTING LAFAYETTE (10-6, 1-0)
Lafayette (10-6, 1-0) has captured three straight victories and six of its past seven, following a 84-74 win over Holy Cross on Saturday (Jan. 9).
The Leopards have four players who average double-digits in scoring includng Ryan Willen the Patriot League Anaconda Player of the Week. Jared Mintz leads Lafayette with 15.1 points per game and on the boards with 5.8 per game.

WHO WILL BE 2-0?
By the time the weekend hits, only two Patriot League teams will still have perfect marks as the winners from opening night face off in mid-week games. Lafayette goes to Colgate on Wednesday, while Lehigh visits Navy. Navy is trying to go 2-0 for the second straight year, while Lafayette has not done it since 2008 and Lehigh since 2007. Colgate has the longest drought without a 2-0 start, last doing so in 1999.

1,300 AND COUNTING …
Kyle Roemer currently stands 10th in the Colgate record books and 30th in the Patriot League annals with 1,371 points. Roemer is averaging 18.3 points per game, second in league scoring.

SUPER SOPHOMORE
Yaw Gyawu is a member of a strong group of sophomores that will have an impact in the Patriot League through the 2012 season. Five of the top nine and nine of the top 14 scorers in the Patriot League are sophomores. Gyawu is averaging 14.4 points per game and currently sits fifth in scoring.

ALL-LEAGUE HONORS
Point guard Mitch Rolls was named the Patriot League Men's Basketball Anaconda Rookie of the Week, following his performance against Stony Brook (Dec. 14). This marks the first-ever weekly honor for Rolls and the first for a Raider this season.

THE DAVIS FILE
Head coach Emmett Davis (St. Lawrence, 1984) is in his 12th year in charge at Colgate, owning the most wins in school history with 153.
During coach Davis' decade long tenure, the Colgate program has been a model of consistency.  In nine of his 11 seasons, Davis has led the Raiders to either the upper division of the Patriot League standings or advanced the team to the semifinals or finals of the conference tournament.  From 2001-2004 the Raiders finished with three consecutive regular season winning records (2001-02…17-10, 2002-03…14-13, and 2003-04…14-13) and in 2007-08 the Raiders tied the school record for wins in a season with 18.
Davis reached another career milestone in November 2005, as Colgate defeated Matt Doherty's Florida Atlantic team 78-74 earning coach Davis his 100th career victory making him just the fifth coach in school history to win 100 games.

PATRIOT LEAGUE PRESEASON POLL

The Raiders have been selected fifth in the Patriot League preseason poll in voting done by the league coaches and sports information directors.
Holy Cross notched 13 first-place votes and 95 points overall to claim the top spot, and were followed in order by Lehigh (78), Bucknell (63), Army (59), Colgate (51), American (45), Navy (43) and Lafayette (14).

The Raiders made the Patriot League semifinals for the second straight time last season, and have five starters back in the lineup. That group includes the top three scorers from last year, as Mike Venezia (10.8 ppg), Ben Jonson (10.4) and Yaw Gyawu (10.2) all averaged in double figures. The Raiders also bring back senior guard/forward Kyle Roemer, a Second-Team All-Patriot League pick in 2007-08 who missed the 2008-09 season with an injury.
