HAMILTON, N.Y. (2/19/09) – The Colgate University women's hockey team concludes the regular season and looks to gain ground in the ECAC Playoff picture at Union and Rensselaer, Feb. 20-21. The Raiders will face off with the Dutchwomen on Friday at 7 p.m., and with the Engineers on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Colgate sports a 17-11-3 overall record, 11-6-3 in ECAC Hockey after a weekend split with Dartmouth (2-1) and Harvard (1-2). Leading the Raiders up front is senior
Sam Hunt (Calgary, Alta.) with a team-high 27 points. Hunt has 12 goals and 15 assists. Junior
Katie Stewart (Exeter, Ont.) has 23 points while junior's
Beth Rotenberg (Toronto, Ont.) and
Marissa Dombovy (Webster, N.Y.) each have 22. Stewart leads the team in goals with 13 while Hunt has 12 and junior
Evan Minnick (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) 11. Senior
Kiira Dosdall (Fairfield, Conn.) leads in assists with a school record for a defenseman 19. Dosdall headlines the defenders with 23 points off four goals and 19 assists while classmate
Clancy Todd (Thorold, Ont.) has 16 and freshman
Amanda Kirwan (Mississauga, Ont.) seven.
Colgate has rotated two goaltenders; sophomore Lisa
Plenderleith (Ajax, Ont.), and freshman
Kimberly Sass (East Amherst, N.Y.). Plenderleith is 4-5 with a 3.26 GAA and a .883 save percentage, while Sass, the ECAC Freshman of the Week, is 12-5-3 with a 2.03 GAA with a .937 save percentage. Both goaltenders have recorded one shutout this season.
Union has a 2-27-3 overall record, both wins coming against independent Sacred Heart. The Dutchwomen are 0-19-1 in the league, earning a tie against Quinnipiac. Providing the firepower for the Dutchwomen is sophomore Marissa Gentile and freshman Adelle Calahan with a team-high 10 points apiece. Freshman Emilie Arsenault and Jackie Koetteritz each have nine, while Lauren Hoffman has eight. Senior Lundy Day has played in all 32 games between the pipes for Union and sports a 2-127-3 record, with a .903 save percentage and a 3.90 GAA.
Rensselaer is 14-13-4 on the season and 9-8-3 in the ECAC after a 2-1 win over Brown and 1-1 tie with Yale last weekend. Junior Whitney Naslund and freshman Alisa Harrison lead the Engineers with 26 points apiece. Naslund has 12 goals while Harrison has 11. RPI has sophomore Sonja Van der Bliek between the pipes. Van der Bliek is 13-12-4 overall with a 2.21 goals against average and .907 save percentage. Van der Bliek has also posted four shut-outs on the season.
