Ethan Kenney rejoined the Colgate women’s basketball staff in July of 2023 after a short stint as an assistant coach at Army West Point. Kenney was previously with the Raiders for the past two seasons serving as the Director of Basketball Operations.

Kenney reunites with Head Coach Ganiyat Adeduntan after serving a two-year stint as a practice player and manager for the George Washington women’s basketball team. Analyzing opposing team film for offensive and defensive schemes while working under Adeduntan, who at the time was an assistant at George Washington, Kenney assisted the director of operations with gameday procedures while practicing with the team and coordinating with coaches and managers to run efficient practices.

Serving in a creative role while pursuing his Master’s Degree at George Washington, Kenney spent the last year as a marketing intern for the Tackle What’s Next podcast. Creating, editing, and updating videos and graphics to be used as marketing materials, he also produced and edited the first season, 23 total episodes, of Timeout with TWN podcast featuring professional athletes.
 
During his time in D.C., Kenney also worked with the Washington Wizards as a Marketing and Youth Basketball Intern from September 2019 to March 2020. While working with the NBA program, he managed, organized, and coached 15 Junior Wizards Basketball clinics averaging more than 60 children per session. He organized and set up promotional materials for gameday giveaways, court unveilings, open practices, charity events, basketball clinics, and the Inaugural Jr. Wizards High School Showcase.

As an undergraduate student at Michigan, Kenney got his start gaining practical experience in the profession while working with the Wolverines’ women’s basketball team as a practice player. He worked with four coaches and more than 20 team managers to run efficient practices and challenge players.
 
Kenney earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biopsychology, Cognition and Neuroscience from Michigan in May 2019. He completed his Master’s Degree in Sport Management from George Washington in 2021.
