A native of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, Grove earned her Masters of Education in sport management from Bowling Green in 2018, after earning a Bachelor of Science in sport management and business administration from Slippery Rock in 2015.
Guardians of the Gate Feature
An influential person in my career or life: "My parents."
What I love about my job: "Simply put? Helping people. It's rewarding to know that you played a tiny role in supporting a student-athlete scoring that game-winning goal, helping a coach lock in the recruit they've been after for months, or providing clarity to our staff on legislation that is ever changing nowadays. Viva la revolución!"
What I like about competing: "Teamwork and the journey. You're not working hard enough if you don't shed some blood, sweat and tears, or chip a few teeth along the way."
What is one way you hope to impact Colgate Athletics in your role? One of our goals is to continue to educate our student-athletes, coaches and staff in order to provide them with the autonomy to get creative within the legislation while still remaining compliant and holding themselves accountable for their own actions. In order to seek out new opportunities, we'll try working in the 'gray area' as we like to call it. This can be a daunting yet exciting task and is often a gratifying experience. If we can find a way to get there, let's absolutely do it! But, again, we're going to do it the right way."
What does it mean to you to be an inclusive community of competitive excellence? "It means having the privilege to be a part of a team of exceptional people from all walks of life who are driven to be the best at what they do both on and off the field, ice, court, water, etc., and while doing it the right way."
What is something about Colgate that you didn't realize until you started working here? "Apparently, you can be put on 'perpetual probation' for redecorating your New England Patriots-loving boss' office with Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia. In my defense, the job description never explicitly mentioned anything about *not* doing this."
When not at my place of competition or the office, you can often find me … : "Fishing my golf ball out of the pond on Hole 10 at Seven Oaks or walking all of my doggo friends in The Village."
