Nate Trawick was named Colgate’s defensive line control coach in July of 2024. In his first year with the Raiders, he orchestrated the development of All-Patriot League First Team defensive tackle Andrew Taddeo.

Before Colgate

Trawick joins the Raiders after most recently serving as the defensive line coach at Gardner-Webb University since February 2024.

Before Gardner-Webb, Trawick spent time at the University of Houston as a graduate assistant in 2023. He worked with the Cougars’ interior defensive line, which produced an All-Big 12 First Team honoree, Nelson Ceaser, and Second Team selection, Jamaree Caldwell.

Trawick started his coaching career as Assistant Football Coach and Varsity Wrestling Coach at Richmond High School in Richmond, Ind. On the mat, he coached upper weight classes (182-285 pounds), guiding student-athletes in match preparation including a 2019 state qualifier. On the gridiron, he worked as a defensive line coach.

He made a move down south in 2021 when he coached for two seasons at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., where he oversaw the defensive line (2021-22) and outside linebackers (2022). In 2021, Trawick mentored the top defense in the state of Florida as IMG Academy held opponents to 5.81 points per game including a defensive line that produced 38 sacks. The program finished 11-1 that season and was the SSIA State Runner-Up. Following the season, Trawick served as the defensive line coach in the Under Armour Futures All-American game in Orlando.

Playing Career
As a student-athlete, Trawick started three years on the defensive line and was named to the Mid-American Conference All-Academic team in 2016. He also spent two seasons as a thrower on Miami University's Track & Field team.
