Ian Fried joined the Colgate Football staff for quality control and video in August 2021. Fried will be assisting in day-to-day football and recruiting operations, as well as managing the filming and importing of games and practices with the help of his student workers.
Fried adds to his ranks as Colgate’s first quality control coach under head coach Stan Dakosty. Fried has worked in player personnel, recruiting operations, and player development since 2019 with stops at the United States Military Academy at West Point, the University of Pennsylvania, and most recently the University of Southern California.
During his time at USC, Fried served as a player personnel assistant, where his responsibilities included establishing and expanding databases of offered and committed recruits, evaluating USC, PAC-12, and national recruits, creating prospect cut-up tapes, assisting the director of player personnel with statistical analysis and special projects, and creating daily transfer portal reports for the recruiting and coaching staffs .
Fried, a native of Stamford, Connecticut, was introduced to the industry as a student manager for equipment and football operations at his alma mater, Temple University, in 2017. He graduated from Temple University in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management.
