HAMILTON – The Raiders fell in their home opener and first game of the Colgate Volleyball Classic to No. 7 Arizona State in three sets, 25-10, 25-12 and 26-24.
In a third set that featured seven lead changes, led by blocks by Stella Labrecque and Charlotte Goldfeder, Colgate fell short, unable to claim a set.
MOMENTS OF THE MATCH
- After a 4-0 Sun Devils lead, the Raiders earned points from an Arizona State service error and Julia Headley's kill.
- Tiana Owens was able to capitalize on a pair of kills in the middle of the set to bring the match to 8-5 in favor of the Sun Devils.
- Another Arizona State service error and Reagan Knipling's service ace brought the game within four, with the Sun Devils leading, 12-8.
- Arizona State had an offensive surge with a 7-0 run, taking control of set one.
- In the first set, Arizona State was able to win several rallies in a row of three or more points to win 25-10.
- Set two featured both teams trading points back and forth, with notable kills from Goldfeder, Morgan Reese and Owens to bring the set to four-all.

- Arizona State seemed to be pulling away, but Owens' pair of kills, Ava Schabes' ace and an error from the Sun Devils put Colgate ahead, 19-18.
- Colgate stayed ahead for a majority of the remaining set, with key kills coming from the Raiders, but the Sun Devils won two points to set the match at 24-23.
- A massive block by Owens and Headley leveled the score at 24-all, but Arizona State managed to win the next two points to win set three, 26-24.

- Colgate falls to 0-2 in the series with Arizona State.
- Goldfeder posted a career-best six kills and three blocks.
- This is the fourth straight game Hannah Langton has logged 10 or more digs in a game.
- Knipling has totaled at least one service ace in every match she has played in this season.
