COACH GUIDO'S COMMENTS
"Josie Cavallo had an amazing day on the draws with 16 draw controls giving us plenty of opportunities on the offense. Super excited for first years Katie Walsh and Chase Dunn for scoring their first collegiate goals as well as Caroline Panzirer for her 100th career goal and 7-point day on offense. Proud of our goalie Maddie Stevens for career high 13 saves on 23 shots on goal. Love the way we shared the ball today."

HOW IT HAPPENED
Colgate began the first quarter with a strong offensive showing, initiated by Ella Bishara's opening goal assisted by Caroline Panzirer. This early start set the pace as Aubrey McMahon added two goals, including one assisted by Panzirer, bolstering Colgate's lead. Josie Cavallo played a crucial role in maintaining momentum by securing multiple draw controls.

Colgate's offensive surge continued with goals from Caroline Panzirer and Katie Walsh, further extending the lead. Despite a free position goal from Niagara University's Michaela Delles, Colgate responded with another goal from Bishara, maintaining control of the game. The quarter concluded with Niagara scoring, but Colgate held a 6-2 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Colgate started the second quarter with a strong offensive surge, capitalizing on a player-up advantage. Chase Dunn opened the scoring, assisted by Caroline Panzirer, followed quickly by a goal from Aubrey McMahon, also assisted by Panzirer. This sequence extended their lead to 9-2 early in the quarter.

Colgate maintained momentum with Katie Walsh netting a goal, and later, Caroline Panzirer added another, assisted by Sarah Marcovici, bringing the score to 11-2. Despite a goal by the Purple Eagles' Maddy Gill, Colgate responded with another strike from Katie Walsh, widening their lead to 12-3.

The quarter concluded with Colgate holding firm defensively, thanks to key saves from Maddie Stevens, maintaining a 12-3 advantage at the end of the second quarter.

Colgate began the third quarter with momentum, as Josie Cavallo secured the draw control, setting up Ella Bishara to score early in the quarter. After a defensive turnover caused by Meghan Holland, Colgate maintained its pressure, and Caroline Panzirer scored with an assist from Abby Iacovelli to extend the lead.

Despite a goal from the Purple Eagles' Avery Olschefskie, Colgate responded with a goal from Lucy Lederman, followed by a man-up goal from Aubrey McMahon. Colgate's defense, led by Olivia Norchi and Alex Larrabee, held strong, allowing only minimal offensive opportunities for Niagara. The quarter concluded with Colgate leading 16-5.

Colgate faced a challenging fourth quarter as Niagara capitalized on key opportunities to close the gap. Early in the quarter, Niagara's Maddy Gill scored, adding pressure to Colgate's defense. A series of turnovers and penalties hampered Colgate's attempts to regain control, allowing Niagara to execute effective free position shots, including goals by Avery Olschefskie and Kensington Keane, narrowing Colgate's lead.

Despite Colgate's efforts to maintain possession, Niagara's defense forced turnovers, limiting offensive momentum. Colgate goalkeeper Maddie Stevens made several crucial saves, but Niagara continued to find scoring chances, with Keane scoring again and Hannah Kent providing an assist. The game ended with Colgate picking up a 16-10 win.
