Men’s Collegiate Quad Takes First

Raiders claim first and third-place finishes at Head of the Schuylkill

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Colgate Raiders had four boats compete at the Head of the Schuylkill. The team's Men's Collegiate Quad captured first place, while the Men's College Frosh/Novice Fours A boat earned a second-place finish.

How It Happened
The Men's College Frosh/Novice Fours was the first event of the day for Colgate. The fours placed third out of 20 competitors, second within Division I programs, with a time of 13:30.112. The University of Pennsylvania (12:21.659) and Washington College (13:12.945) took the top two spots.

The Men's Club Championship Eights was the next event for Colgate, with the Raiders finishing 13th out of 35 competitors in 12:06.682. Drexel, the University of Pennsylvania and Fairmount finished in the top three. Colgate finished behind the University of Delaware (12:03.860) and Washington College (12:04.646).

The Men's Championship Eights finished seventh out of 17 competitors in the third event of the day. The Raiders crossed the finish line in 11:24.247, finishing ahead of Temple's C boat. The University of Pennsylvania's A boat (10:43.609), the University of Pennsylvania's B boat (10:53.027) and La Salle (10:57.555) rounded out the top three, all finishing in under 11 minutes.

Colgate's final boat of the day competed in the Men's Collegiate Quad. The Raiders claimed first place, finishing ahead of their only opponent, Fordham. Colgate's quad crossed the finish line in 12:43.712, while the Rams finished in 13:47.836.
