Cross Country Runs at Lehigh Paul Short Invitational

Droege, Ebmeyer earn top finishes for Colgate

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Colgate cross country programs competed in the Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Friday. The meet was filled with highly competitive, national competition.

WOMEN

Nell Droege paced the women's cross country team with a top-60 individual finish as the Raiders competed against a highly competitive national field.

Colgate placed 27th overall in the team standings with 758 points, recording a team average time of 22:45.3 and a top-five spread of 1:58.6 across the distance.

Droege led the charge for the Raiders, navigating the deep pack to cross the line 60th overall in a strong 21:43.5. Senior Audrey Luell was the second Raider across the line, securing 147th place in 22:38.0, followed closely by junior Lucy Pew in 158th with a time of 22:42.7.

Senior Abby Poplawski added crucial scoring depth in 200th place, stopping the clock at 23:00.3. Rookie Giovanna Mantuano closed out Colgate's scoring five, capturing 249th place in 23:42.0.

Junior Juliet Drury (277th, 24:16.8) and senior Isabel Slippen (286th, 24:23.0) served as the team's displacing runners, while sophomores Dolores Maxwell and Beatriz Engels, along with junior Chloe Schiller, added strong lower-pack finishes to round out Colgate's top ten competitors.

MEN

Colgate placed 33rd overall in the men's standings with 787 points. The Raiders demonstrated remarkable pack execution across the 8k distance, posting a tight 1-5 scoring spread of just 32.6 seconds and a team average of 26:06.4.

Ebmeyer led the Raiders to cross the finish line as Colgate's top finisher in 129th place with a time of 25:48.4. Sophomore Max Kahn followed as the second Raider across, placing 163rd overall in 26:03.2.

Senior Nicholas Larson clocked in closely behind Kahn, capturing 167th place in 26:05.0. Junior Thomas Rivier (184th, 26:14.3) and senior Jackson Vogel (200th, 26:20.9) rounded out the scoring five in rapid succession to complete the team's narrow 32-second compression.

First-year Ewan Conroy (237th, 26:51.3) and junior Roman Steis (261st, 27:13.3) added crucial displacement support for Colgate, while sophomore Drake Fricke and junior Finley Tobin provided additional lower-pack depth.

UP NEXT
The Raiders will head to Farmingdale, N.Y. on Oct. 17 for the ECAC/IC4A Championships. The meet is set for 10 a.m.
