Colgate Golf shattered the program's 36-hole record, firing a 15-under 553 to lead the field after two rounds of the Autumn Invitational at Lake Placid Club. Sophomore Alex Hill shot back-to-back 68s and is tied atop the leaderboard. 

Colgate's 553 (-15) for its 36-hole total broke the program record of 560 (E), which was set in October 2021 at the Bucknell Invitational. The Raiders shot a field-best 7-under in the second round to lead Columbia by three strokes heading into the final round on Sunday. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Hill played a critical role in Colgate's hot start, blistering back-to-back rounds of 3-under 68 to sit tied for the lead at 6-under. The sophomore paced the field with 11 birdies and finished 2-under on par 3s for the day, good for second best in the tournament. 
  • Leo Li and Jamison Bryant are not far behind Hill, tied for 10th and just three strokes back at 3-under. Bryant canned an eagle and finished the day with 10 birdies, good for second best in the tournament, while Li's steady day featured 24 pars. 
  • Brayden Dock is one stroke behind Li and Bryant, tied for 14th at 2-under. He also landed an eagle and finished 5-under on par 5s for the day, good for second best in the field. Ronav Benak is tied for 28th at 1-over to round out Colgate's scoring contingent. 
  • Colgate's 42 birdies and two eagles were best in the field en route to holding first place by three strokes at 15-under. Columbia is second at 12-under, followed by Hofstra (-9), Niagara (-7), and Dartmouth (-6). 
Eighty golfers from 13 teams are competing in this weekend's 6,530-yard par-71 Autumn Invitational at Lake Placid Club.
