Women’s Swim & Dive Downs Lafayette

Raiders tally 13 golds in 174-135 victory

EASTON, Pa. – Colgate Women's Swimming and Diving won 13 events and racked up 27 podium finishes in a dominant 174-135 victory over Lafayette on Saturday in Patriot League action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

MG King paced the Raiders with three victories in a stellar performance. Allie Phillips, Audrey Collins, and Lucy Art each tallied a pair of gold finishes, while Katie Miller and Paige Fisher earned one apiece. Colgate's 200 Medley and 200 Free relay teams also captured gold to highlight the victory. 

Collins headlined the day with a program-record time of 59.21 to grab gold in the 100 IM, which was the penultimate event of the meet and her second win of the day. She also secured first place in the 100 Breast, clocking in with a time of 1:06.00. 

King's massive performance featured three victories, starting with the 1000 Free where they touched the wall in 10:49.29 – more than 13 seconds faster than their nearest opponent. King continued with a 59.01 first-place time in the 100 Back, before securing their third win in the 200 Back (2:05.97). 

Phillips' big day commenced with a first-place finish in the 200 Fly, turning in a time of 2:10.98 which was nearly two seconds faster than her nearest opponent. She picked up where she left off in the 100 Fly, securing her second win of the meet with a first-place time of 58.31. 

Art was dominant in the freestyle, securing first-place in the 50 Free (24.73) and 100 Free (53.69) for back-to-back gold finishes. Miller won the 200 Free with a time of 1:56.10, while Fisher found success in the 200 Breast with a first-place time of 2:23.90. 

Phillips, Regan Hau, Collins and Art kicked off the meet with gold in the 200 Medley Relay, finishing with a time of 1:47.62. The victory was capped off with a victory in the 200 Free Relay, led by Phillips, Heather O'Day, Miller, and Art, who took gold with a time of 1:37.71.

UP NEXT
Colgate is back in action Friday, Nov. 7, when the Raiders take on Le Moyne. The divers will be competing in Hamilton, while the swimmers will compete against the Dolphins in Syracuse. Both start times are 5 p.m.
