BRONX, N.Y. –
Fordham scored the final 14 points and rallied for a 24-20 decision over Colgate here Saturday afternoon.

Colgate led 20-10 when Jake Melville broke loose on a 63-yard touchdown run to cap the opening possession of the second half. But the Fordham defense stiffened from then on and held Colgate to just 84 total yards the rest of the way.

Fordham's comeback was the result of two Kevin Anderson touchdown passes, both to Robbie Cantelli. The first went for 14 yards late in the third quarter, and the game-winner was from 20 yards out with 4:55 remaining.

Colgate drove into Fordham territory on its final possession of the game, reaching the Rams 31-yard line. But three incomplete passes sandwiched around a short run halted the drive.

Keyon Washington scored first-half touchdowns of 16 and 42 yards, the latter his longest run of the season. Washington finished with 123 rushing yards to Melville's 124.

Fordham's Anderson threw for 263 yards and three touchdowns, while tailback Chase Edmonds finished with 73 rushing yards on 21 carries.

Kyle Diener was the Colgate tackle leader with a season-high 11. Pat Afriyie contributed two of Colgate's four sacks in the game, improving his career total to 22 and a tie for third all-time.

25628From the Source
• Colgate head coach Dan Hunt: (On the game) " The last couple of weeks, we've been doing what you need to do to win a game. Today, we did just enough to lose a game. Obviously, missing the PAT there after the second-half touchdown was a little bit of a blow to our psyche, and we were chasing that point the rest of the game.

"Offensively, we were so hot and cold. We had three good drives and then we really didn't do a lot. We weren't able to consistently run the ball or make plays in the pass game when we needed to. When you leave your defense on the field for as many plays as we did, eventually you're asking for the other team to be able to make a play. And that's exactly what happened."
