The Colgate Raiders (1-3, 0-1) will host Patriot League foe Fordham (1-2) on Saturday, Oct. 1. Kickoff is set for 1:07 p.m. at Andy Kerr Stadium. The game can be seen live on Time Warner Cable Sports.
THE SERIES
This will be the 23rd meeting between Colgate and Fordham, with the Raiders leading the all-time series 18-4. Colgate has won the last three games including last season 47-12 at Jack Coffey Field. Fordham's last win in the series came in 2007 (34-31) at Andy Kerr Stadium.

THE COACHES
Colgate head coach
Dick Biddle, who has the most wins in school history, is in his 16th season at the helm of the Raiders. His overall record is 121-58, and 12-2 against Fordham.
Fordham head coach Tom Marsella is in his sixth season with Fordham and has a record of 27-32 with the Rams and an overall mark of 44-58.
FORDHAM NOTEBOOK
The Rams (1-2) visit Hamilton following a final minute loss at Rhode Island, 21-17. Fordham made a second half comeback after trailing 14-7 at halftime to eventually take a 17-14 lead late in the fourth quarter. But Rhode Island scored with 1:13 remaining to steal the win at Meade Stadium.
Fordham is led on offense by quarterback Peter Maetzold, who has completed 53-of-90 passes for 527 yards and three touchdowns passes, while wide receiver Sam Ajala leads the team with 14 catches for 133 yards and one score.
On defense the Rams are led by Michael Martin who has a team-high 27 tackles, while Nick Womack has 15 tackles, along with a team-high 2.5 sacks and two interceptions. Womack earned CFPA Honorable Mention after returning an interception 100 yards for a touchdown against Columbia.
FRIEL EARNS CFPA HONORABLE MENTION
Junior linebacker
Patrick Friel has been recognized by CollegeFootballPerformance.com for his performance in Saturday's game against Holy Cross. Friel earned College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Honorable Mention after recording a game-high 16 tackles against the Crusaders. Friel also recorded three tackles for a loss and forced one fumble. The 16 tackles are the most recorded by a Raider since Mike Gallihugh recorded 17 against Massachusetts in 2007.
EACHUS, McCARNEY RECEIVE CFPA HONORS

Nate Eachus and sophomore quarterback
Gavin McCarney have been recognized by CollegeFootballPerformance.com for their achievements against Albany. Both Eachus and McCarney earned College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) Honorable Mention for their respected positions. Eachus ran for a game-high 165 yards and scored the game winning touchdown in overtime, while McCarney collected 324 yards of total offense and four scores in his first collegiate start. McCarney finished the game completing 17-of-24 passes to six different receivers for 210 yards, while carrying the ball 21 times for 114 yards.
RAIDERS PICKED SECOND IN PL PRESEASON POLL
Colgate was picked to finish second in the Patriot League preseason poll of head coaches and sports information directors; the announcement came during the annual football media day.
Defending champion Lehigh topped the poll with a total of 58 points and eight first place votes, while the Raiders placed second with 55 points and six first place votes. Holy Cross 38 points and Lafayette 36 points were selected third and fourth in the poll, followed by Georgetown (fifth, 19 points) and Bucknell (six, 16 points).
In addition to the preseason poll, the Patriot League named senior running back
Nate Eachus the preseason Offensive Player of the Year. Eachus is the second-straight Raider to earn this preseason honor as
Greg Sullivan was named the preseason Player of the Year last year.
EACHUS, OTTANELLI NAMED TO LINDY'S PRESEASON TEAMS
Running back
Nate Eachus was named to the Lindy's 2011 All-FCS Offensive first-team, while offensive lineman
Vittorio Ottanelli was named to the second-team. As a team the Raiders were ranked No. 23 in the magazine's Preseason Top 25.
600 AND COUNTING
Last season the Colgate football team became just the 15th program in FCS history to reach 600 wins after topping Cornell 44-3 on Oct. 16. Colgate now has an all-time record of 604-450-50. The Raiders are also the ninth winningest program in the FCS over the last decade. Since 2000, Colgate has posted a recorded 89-39 and won four Patriot League titles.

THE BIDDLE ERA
Colgate head coach
Dick Biddle is in his 16th season with the Raiders and has an overall mark of 121-58. He has achieved the best winning percentage (.686) of any Colgate coach with seven or more years at the helm of the Raiders. Biddle is also the first Colgate coach to ever record nine straight seasons with seven or more victories.
He has been named Patriot League Coach of the Year four times while guiding the Raiders to six Patriot League titles and six appearances in the FCS (formally I-AA) playoffs. In 2003, Biddle was named the American Football Coaches Association Division I-AA National Coach of the Year after leading the Raiders to a 15-1 record, and to the national championship game of the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs.
