HAMILTON, N.Y. (2/17/09) - The Colgate women's basketball team is set to wrap-up its two game home-stand this Wednesday when they face Lehigh on Cotterell Court at 7 p.m.
The Mountain Hawks (19-6, 8-2PL) are currently tied with American for first place in the Patriot League while the Raiders (5-20, 1-9 PL) are just behind Lafayette, in eighth place. The game can be heard on WKXZ radio stations 94 FM and 99.3 FM. There will also be live stats available through the Colgate Athletics web site and live video of the game through the Patriot League's All Access package available through the Patriot League web site.
This will mark the 46th meeting between the two teams, who have been evenly matched throughout the years. Lehigh holds just a slight lead in the all-time series, 24-21, but the Raiders have the advantage at home with a record of 12-8 against the Mountain Hawks. Lehigh however, has won the last five meetings, including a 61-43 win on their home-court back on Jan. 24 this year.
Colgate heads into the game after falling to American, 60-38 on Saturday afternoon, three days after outlasting Lafayette, 62-61 to gain their first Patriot League victory of the season. Freshmen Tricia Oakes (Evergreen, Colo.) and Candice Green (East Brunswick, N.J.) led the Raiders in scoring against Lehigh the last time they met, with Oakes putting up a team-high 12 points, followed by Green with 11. Oakes is currently the top-rebounder for the Raiders, averaging 6.3 boards per game and adds 9.3 points per outing. Sophomores Tayler Wejnert (Ramsey, N.J.) and Sami Kozlowski (New Market, Md.) are Colgate's top scorers this season, with Wejnert averaging 10.9 points per game and Kozlowski putting up 10.2 points per outing along with a team-high 2.96 assists per game.
Sophomore Erica Prosser led the Mountain Hawks with a season high 25 points against Colgate in their most recent match-up. Prosser also leads the team in scoring on the season, averaging 14.9 points per game and 4.5 assists. Alex Ross contributes another 12.3 points per outing, while Tricia Smith leads the team in rebounding, with 5.8 boards per game.
